We refuse to vote for Deb Haaland until she calls for a state-wide ban on data centers. Guardrails are not enough. Not a drop of our water should go to building or operating data centers in New Mexico. Our land, air, and people deserve a governor who will stand up for us, and if you’re not up for the task, then we will take things into our own hands. In signing onto this demand, we also agree to take this to Deb Haaland every chance we get, to bring more people into this fight, and to be relentless in stopping data centers in New Mexico. Our futures depend on it.

You claim to be a progressive politician. You claim to care about the earth. You have talked a lot, time to back it up. Stand with the people’s demand to ban data centers in New Mexico now!

We are in a new reality. The world is burning. If a politician wants the vote of the people, they MUST be fighting for LIFE in the face of the climate collapse. Start by calling data centers what they are: DEATH.

I will not put my name behind someone that doesnt take a hard stance to defend NM’s future. Deb will not get my vote unless I’m 100% sure she will not sell out to the corporations trying to destroy this country.

we do not want or need data centers in New Mexico. We don’t have the resources available to sustain the data centers. Humans have lived on this planet for hundreds of years with no data centers but they have never survived with out water and clean air. Please choose people over profit

If you really want to represent New Mexican people, you would protect one of the most scarce resources in the region against data centers being used to take advantage of not only New Mexicans, but Americans across the whole country. Stop appealing to tech that is proved to be unsustainable during a global climate crisis. People’s lives matter more than money.

Why vote for a candidate afraid to stand up to big business before she even gets in office?
Listen to the people of NM. We demand a Ban on data centers.
If you are giving in on this issue, what else will you sell us out on?
Having a D by your name does not guarantee you will get democrats to vote for you.

I would otherwise be voting for DH but this lack of commitment to protect the state from a poorly regulated new industry is a serious issue and non-starter. As a local for many years, who runs a small business and small home that both generate power and water bills, in a state with some of the highest grocery and fuel costs, I cannot support a candidate for Governor who would allow large out of state entities to rush through what limited protections there are in place while providing no measurable benefit to the majority and increasing costs for all. We don’t want data centers, hear this! Santa Fe has a ban for these reasons. Listen to your constituents!

Politicians are supposed to be servants of the people, and what the people want is a ban on data centers, not guard rails, not pauses on construction, an out right ban. If they cannot give us what we want, they have no right to office. BAN DATA CENTERS NOW!!!

Once upon a time I would have voted for Deb Haaland in a heartbeat. I would’ve encouraged my mom and family to vote for her as well. This is not the case currently. I will not vote for her as long as she does not protect New Mexico from data center evil. She asked for this duty and responsibility and I couldn’t care less how much money is offered to her to sell us out. She knows better, and anything less is betrayal.

No more data centers in NM! One of the hottest states with the least surface water in the country has enough challenges without helping to inflate this AI bubble. We need to focus on building community resilience in the face of climate change, not burning up even more energy and precious water resources!

Time to take a stand Deb, big corp or tribes? Hyperscale AI or culture and survival of generations? Answer the question, you’re a politician, are you in or out?? San Juan County is ants to know.
I thank the creator of this outlet, for giving the people a voice, to be real. My name is Steven Shelby, I am just one representative of SJC DCDC, “San Juan County Data Center Descent Coalition” a unified group, non politically identified, we are growing, getting stronger, we want truth, we are uniting💯LikeLike

Deb, step up. Protect the Tribes, or Big Corp?? Stand for generations to come, or let Hyperscale monsters control our culture, way of life? Steven Shelby, I’m with SJC DCDC, I would love to speak with you Deb, real talk, from a real New Mexican. Brass tacks, metal to the bone, where do you stand Deb. Many like me want answers, not just another paid politician. Deb, reach out, or don’t, that’s up to you. But you will hear SJC💯

We’ve had enough of corporate democrats and wolves in sheep’s clothing. If an indigenous woman candidate from New Mexico can’t condemn data centers then we won’t vote for you, no matter how progressive you think you appear. The people of this country will not be sold out to the corporate devils anymore.

So far the only folks who want data centers are low integrity tech investors. The public has made it clear that we do not want our resources to be pillaged for these centers. What is stopping you from condemning them, Deb?

We did just fine without data centers. And now people running for office are accepting donations to back these disgusting companies pushing for resource consumption who will sell it back to us.. which is wild because public lands and state/national parks BELONG TO THE PUBLIC. Why else would be pay taxes to maintain these? GROW A SPINE AND QUIT LINING YOUR OWN POCKETS OUT OF SELFISH GREED.

Our precious resources cannot go to massive data centers like Project Jupiter. This is a non-negotiable stance. Deb Haaland cannot sell our future down the dry Rio Grande.

New Mexico is already in an over 30 year drought; our weather is only getting hotter, drier and more unpredictable as the climate changes; and our water and resources are precious and finite and should be for NM communities. New Mexicans do not want data centers here. We want water and farmland and wildlife. We do not want our land, resources, and water extracted and exploited by data centers. We do not want the air pollution, noise pollution, and light pollution of data centers.
I’m a farmer and land steward and want to continue to grow food for the community and have the water to do so.
BAN DATA CENTERS, Deb. Ban ALL data centers: existing, proposed, new, and future. There’s no place for them anywhere, and especially not in New Mexico.
